It has been almost a complete year since
the demise of the Mbunda Monarch, King
Mbandu III Mbandu Lifuti in Angola,
Mbundas are now in preparations of the
Instalation Ceremony of another Monarch,
King
Mbandu IV. By Mbunda tradition and
customs, the responsibilty to select a
Monarch lies with the Supreme Council of
the Kingdom at the King's palace
,
after receiving names of candidates from
different Mbunda Royal Families,
chosen as suitable in each family to be
enthroned on the Mbunda Monarchy.
Therefore, in this case, Mbundas have
commissioned a Mbunda Monarch
Installation Committee or Comissao in
Portuguese language to assist the
Supreme Council of the Kingdom at the
palace in this undertaking. This
Commission comprises appointed
Councillors from Angola, Namibia, South Africa and Zambia,
who deliberate these matters on their WhatsApp
group to assist the Commission and the
Supreme Council of the Kingdom.
The twenty third
(23rd) Mbunda Monarch, King Mbandu III Mbandu Lifuti,
slept in death on Tuesday, the 20th of ngonde
June
2021 in Luena General Hospital,
Moxico Province, Angola.
However,
like any other undertaking in a group of
people, in deliberations, there would be
always understanding, misunderstanding,
quarelling, and spitefulness.
In this case, there has been infighting
presenting the Mbandu Royal Family or the Kalyangu
Royal Family as being the only Royal
Family to succeed on the
Mbunda Monarchy Throne as claimed by
some sources.By the history of the Mbunda customs and
traditions
and
the Mbunda Constitution, the Mbunda
Monarchy does not belong to a particular
or single Mbunda Royal Family.
From the first Mbunda Monarch King
Nkuungu in KOOLA, now Congo DRC to King
Mbandu III Mbandu Lifuti the 23rd Mbunda
Monarch, Mbundas had always selected
their Monarchs from different Mbunda
Royal Families and not one Royal Family
only.

Families eligible to suceed on the
